On June 18, 2021, Yuga Labs airdropped the Bored Ape Kennel Club to every BAYC holder. Dogs were revealed on June 25th, and from the first secondary sale, BAKC royalties were pledged to animal welfare organizations. The final tally: over $1 million donated to animal charities.
